H807 – Jisc Case Studies – Use of Moodle to support active learning in Classics

One interesting aspect of this case study was the inherent assumption that the students themselves would innovate in their use of the online materials. This is a sensible approach as it recognises that technology moves so fast, and students adoption of the change outstrips that of the course designers.

So materials were provided online so that students could make the coice about how they were used, in a wiki, through hyperlinks etc.

In terms of benefits, it is stated that the pass rate was 100% but does not provide any comparative data for other courses. One successful outcome does appear to be the podcasts which are now being used successfully in other courses.
